Wang Tianxuan 王天璇

Wang Tianxuan is an equity senior partner at Tiantai Law Firm's Shanghai office and head of its maritime team. She focuses on providing comprehensive legal services to domestic and international clients across charterparty and maritime contracts, marine insurance, maritime tort, shipbuilding and sale, finance leasing, and cross-border dispute resolution, and is committed to delivering efficient, practical, one-stop legal solutions in the complex international shipping and trade environment.

Wang Tianxuan graduated from Dalian Maritime University with bachelor's and master's degrees in maritime law and has practiced in the maritime field for more than twenty years. She serves as legal counsel or panel lawyer for leading domestic and international enterprises and institutions, including Zhejiang Seaport Group, COSCO Shipping, PICC, Ping An Property & Casualty, and the China Shipowners' Mutual Assurance Association. She is also an arbitrator at more than ten arbitration institutions, including the Shanghai International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (Shanghai International Arbitration Center) and Hainan International Arbitration Court; a specially invited mediator at Nanjing Maritime Court; a member of the Maritime Law Committee of the Shanghai Bar Association; and an adjunct professor at the School of Law of East China University of Science and Technology. Her honors include the 2024 LegalOne Maritime Law 'Star of Strength', the 2025 Lvxinshe Maritime Law 'Brand Star', and the 2026 Legal 500 China Elite – Dispute Resolution Lawyer.

In cross-border dispute resolution, her team has successfully handled cases before leading domestic and international arbitration institutions including CIETAC, BAC, SHIAC, and SIAC, as well as LMAA and HKMAG ad hoc arbitrations. Representative matters include acting for a provincial state-owned enterprise in a RMB 300 million port project arbitration, shortlisted for the Shanghai Bar Association's 2025 Outstanding Dispute Resolution nomination; acting for a state-owned power enterprise in a Poland EPC project arbitration, recovering more than RMB 75 million for the claimant; reducing a client's loss by more than RMB 51 million in a shipbuilding insurance dispute; and securing a full victory in retrial proceedings before the Supreme People's Court of the PRC.

Her team brings together practitioners with master's and doctoral degrees from leading law schools including Tsinghua University, Dalian Maritime University, George Washington University, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and the University of Leeds, some with prior experience as judges, and delivers international professional services in both Chinese and English.
